Programs of Service

Members of Soroptimist of El Cerrito engage in many programs of service each year.  Our signature project is patterned after the Day for Girls model, as we get together to sew the parts for menstral kits to be given to girls in developing nations to help keep the girls in school throughout each month.  We fill and deliver gift bags to Meals on Wheels shut-ins, help clean a local homeless shelter, provide holiday gifts to girls in the MISSSEY program and present programs designed to raise awareness of the seriousness of human trafficking.  We also provide grants and scholarships to high school girls, to women returning to college after life events sidetracked their educational paths, and combine resources with other Soroptimist clubs to give Fellowships to women in the last year of their doctoral studies.
